I doubt I have to introduce you to the trendiest backback on the block - Fjallraven's iconic design that is Kanken. I've been wanting any of these dinky-yet-durable rucksacks for periods, so I've been really happy reviewing this oxblood attractiveness.
I do like gear with a bit of history behind it, don't you? The Kanken was established as a school-friendly back pack for small ones in Sweden in 1978, and has simple layout ethics at its core. Made of kanken backpack review , lightweight Vinylon F material, Kankens soon gained a cult following in Sweden for their quality and practicality. And I Have got one, so you know they're trendy.
Product description: "The retro classic Fjallraven Kanken Backpack has become a firm favourite here. This rucksack has really been an ever present in the their range since and was initially launched in 1978. Created from super Vinylon F cloth that is durable, it is lightweight and very tough and includes a large main compartment, carry handle, double side pockets, zipped front pocket, a sitting pad in the back pocket and the fox symbol is, in addition, a reflector. Now viewed as a style icon, the Fjallraven Kanken Classic Backpack is used by fashionable people trying to find a great looking retro design backpack."
Sunday cycles: The Kanken is the right size for sluggish afternoon adventures by bike. It is modest and light enough to sit high up on your back, but roomy enough to fit a waterproof, thermos along with a spare inner tube or two. My favourite layout component are the handy top handles - clip them together and you have got an easily portable tote, making the rucksack a cinch to transport. It's great for nighttime riding also - the quite adorable sleeping fox emblem on the front is also a reflector, and you can clip on a bike light onto the handles easily. The single downer for bikers is that the thin straps of the Kanken can dig into your shoulders a bit if you're carrying heavy equipment. I Will get a bag with padded shoulder straps instead when I'm taking fjallraven kanken into work.
Hiking in the New Forest: Ideal for all your Famous Five adventures, the Kanken's waterproof outer keep all your special possessions dry and will survive a significant shower, plus it's simple to wipe clean if things get a bit dirty. Or if it gets drooled on by New Forest ponies that were inquisitive. Handy pockets on the front, sides and in are perfect for stowing essentials (read: chocolate bars), and there is even a seat pad included for your picnicking relaxation. Oh, when you Instagram all the healthy enjoyment you are having and it'll look amazing.
Verdict: Light, watertight and more easy on the pocket than its bigger brothers and sisters, the Kanken Classic certainly will take a lot more apparel than you might anticipate, making it perfect for sightseeing, day trips and ventures that are small, and is also a bit of a Tardis. Plus, it is just so CUTE. I'm a sucker for design that is outdoorsy that is retro, and I adore the clean lines and bright primary colours of the Kanken.
